AORN of San Diego County invites you to our February chapter meeting and education presentation. Come join us for breakfast, networking, and obtain a continuing education credit. If you can’t make it for breakfast, you can join us via Zoom.

Topic: Aseptic Techniques, Proper Attire, and Hand Hygiene

1. Examine recent updates to AORN Guidelines related to sterile technique and their implications for clinical practice.
2. Clarify evolving definitions and terminology associated with sterile technique to align with current evidence-based standards.
3. Explore concepts of barriers and containment to minimize risks of contamination in dynamic perioperative environments.
4. Evaluate practical applications of updated sterile techniques and how they enhance patient safety.
5. Discuss new recommendations for surgical attire and strategies to ensure compliance with evolving standards.
6. Review the latest evidence on hand hygiene techniques, including key updates for reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
